Cub Scouts Crossing Over Ceremony

Friday Night was the Crossing Over Ceremony for our Cub Scout Pack. Nathan moved from Tiger to Wolf Cub, and Corban officially joined the pack and received his Tiger Scarf. Jason is so excited to share this experience with the boys. Jason is quickly becoming a front man in the pack and everyone loves his crazy antics, they do help to make the evening less boring!! :)

End of the Year Parties

Brooklyn's class enjoyed having their Play Day first thing that morning, which had been previously canceled during the Swine Flu freakimic. She won First and Second Place in the two races she competed in. She also got her TAX scores in, and is officially a commended student! We are so proud of her in every way!

Nathan's class had luau games and sno cones, and the kindergarteners had water day again with water slides and every other kind of wet fun. They all had a blast and can't wait for summer!

Editorial Note: Thank you to all of you who have informed me that it is TAKS. I prefer to call it TAX, because that's what it is. One more way to tax our teachers, the system, and the kids to their max. :) The Lord has called my kids to a public school education, to be a light in that arena, and I support that completely, but that doesn't mean I agree with all of the politics involved with public education. ;)

It's Raining Teeth

I am officially the tooth puller of the neighborhood. I even do drive by service. I wasn't surprised to get the call from Evan late one night asking to come down for his tooth. He ran down in his pajamas in the rain, desperate for his first visit from the tooth fairy!

Corban kept the fun going the same week losing his first tooth! It was a race to get that one out since the permanent tooth was already growing in behind it, not under it, behind it.

The very next night Corban lost his second tooth. I think the Tooth Fairy was confused, and maybe thought it was a duplicate work order she received, because she forgot to show up the second night! But, we emailed her, and let her know we understood that losing our first two teeth, two nights in a row, would obviously be confusing to her, and that it would still be waiting the following night. Thanks goodness she was able to make it by then!
Two days after Corban's 2nd tooth loss, Nathan runs into my office holding his tooth, he pulled it out himself. That's very much like him! He chose to sleep in Brooklyn's room that night and the tooth fairy had the hardest time finding his tooth amidst all the blankets and pillows strewn everywhere, but good thing she's a fairy and can look in all those hard to see places, she finally found it! I think she took out a loan just for our house this week!

Our Nephew Carson

Happy One Month Birthday Carson!
Thought I would share some pics Becky and I took of him this past week. Enjoy!

And not to leave Big Brother Kooper out, we took a couple of him too!

Corban's Kindergarten Writing Assignment

If I Were An Astronaut. . .

Translation: I would punch an alien in the face. I would ride in my rocket ship. I would go to Jupiter.

Such violence in young kids these days! :)

Father Daughter Dance

Jason and Brooklyn enjoyed another fabulous date night out at our church ball last week. To read all about it, visit Brooklyn's blog by clicking here.

Cub Scout Family Camp Out

We went camping with our Cub Scout Pack this past weekend, and we really roughed it! There were no bathrooms and the woods were so full of poison ivy you could not leave the trails! They had 4 port-a-potties for the entire campground, and they were completely full! Let's just say if you used it, you would get splash back. I used it once, in 36 hours. I held it like a champion the rest of the time. Despite the bathroom amenities, and the 4 man tent we squeezed our family of five in to for the night, it was a beautiful trip. The weather was perfect, it was extremely relaxing, and the kids got absolutely filthy and loved every minute of it. I even brought home a souvenir, a big ol fat tick with a big white dot on his back rode home on my tummy, or in my tummy I should say! yee haw! On Saturday afternoon the kids went through a series of stations. In one they built napkin holders, in another they learned about astronomy, in another they built and launched alka-seltzer rockets, and in ours they learned to shoot rifles and pistols with rubber band ammo. At the final campfire when asked what was the most fun thing of the camp out, the kids all screamed Rubber Band Guns. Yes, Jason and I are the coolest. It made my trip into the boonies of South Fort Worth to buy them all worth it.The kids took part in a special ceremony during the final Camp Fire. They learned how to properly retire both the Stars and Stripes and the Texas State Flag. It was really inspiring and patriotic. We were thrilled to get home and get in the shower! The water ran black off every one's body! We love the great outdoors! God made some really cool stuff and it's a treat to leave the city and enjoy it every once in awhile. . . as long as my running water and toilet is not too far away that is. . .
